The City of Cullman says its Tree Commission is preparing the 2026 Festival of Trees, with decorated trees set to go on display at the Cullman Wellness & Aquatics Center in December.
According to the city’s announcement, participating local public and private schools and the Cullman County Public Library will decorate trees on December 2 and 3. Judging is scheduled for 1 p.m. December 3, followed by an opening ceremony at 5 p.m., the city said.
The city said the display will be open to the public free of charge in the center’s foyer during regular operating hours from December 4 through December 27. Commission member Jason Fowler confirmed that local Boy Scouts will help set up and take down the display, according to the announcement.
The city said the commission also discussed grant opportunities, the Arbor Day Poster Contest, applications for the Tree City USA and Growth Award programs due December 2, and opportunities for additional training and guidance from arborists.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for November 16, 2026, at 10 a.m., the city said.
