Hayden student crowned Miss Wallace State 2027 in Hanceville

Wallace State Community College crowned Elysa Pierce of Hayden Miss Wallace State 2027 during a ceremony in Hanceville that also marked 50 years of the college’s scholarship program, according to the college’s Oct. 9 announcement.

Pierce, a Wallace State sophomore majoring in nursing and a Hayden High School graduate, received a $500 scholarship to the college, Wallace State said. She will advance to the Miss Alabama competition in June, a preliminary to the Miss America competition, according to the announcement.

The college said the event also recognized past Miss Wallace State titleholders and included a plaque presentation marking the program anniversary. The announcement did not specify the ceremony’s exact date or venue within the campus.
